Churchwell Named as SCAC Pitcher-of-the-Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - Chris Churchwell, a 6-0, 170-pound senior left-hander from Kingwood, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 21 through Sunday, February 27.
 
Churchwell threw a complete game, nine innings, allowing three runs, one earned, on seven hits while walking two and striking out nine for a 1.00 era this week.

For the season, Churchwell is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 18.2 innings of work. He has tallied 16 strikeouts (7.7 K's per nine innings) and has walked just six batters on the season.

The Pirates are currently 4-7 on the year, 2-3 in the SCAC, and face conference-rival #12 Trinity for a two-game series this weekend beginning on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
