Lacrosse Dips to 2-8 against Kean University

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Men's Lacrosse (2-7) gave up ten goals in the first quarter against the Kean University Cougars (5-3) on Friday Night. The Cougar offense was too strong for the Pirates throughout the game, putting up twenty-four goals against Southwestern in the matchup, scoring sixteen of those goals in the first half. The Pirates could only manage eight goals of their own, bringing the final tally to 24-8 in favor of Kean.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Jackson Strauser recorded his sixth multi-goal game of the season, scoring three goals on the night.
  • Alex Hudgins assisted his teammates three times, leading the Pirates in assists.
  • Chris Steffeck caused two turnovers and picked up two groundballs against the Cougars.

NOTES

  • Kean goaltenders were only forced to make five saves against Southwestern. 
  • The Pirates went 4/6 on extra man opportunities, their most conversions in the season so far. 
  • Southwestern shot the ball just twenty-times, the lowest of the season so far.
