
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Men's Lacrosse (0-4) broke in Varsity Field for the first time in 2024 on Thursday night, taking on the Brewers of Vassar College (3-1) at 7:00 PM. The Pirates and the Brewers exchanged blows all throughout the first half of play. Ultimately, a five-goal quarter coming out of halftime for the Brewers ended up being the difference in the matchup. On a night when the Pirates couldn't come away with a win, the silver lining was junior attackman Cade McDonald, who eclipsed the century mark in points and now owns 104 in his career.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Cade McDonald hit a career high seven goals against the Brewers and added an assist.
- Will Walsh tallied seventeen saves on the night against thirty-five shots on goal.
- Matt Caldwell was second on the team in points with two goals, and two assists.
NOTES
- The Brewers drew seven penalties against the Pirates, while the Pirate's only E.M.O came from a faceoff violation.
- Southwestern had a season-low in team turnovers with seventeen.
- The Pirate offense shot 39% for the contest, twelve goals on thirty-one shots.
