The postseason is riddled with exceptional performances, but Cozette Palmer's performance against Austin College in the first round of the SCAC Championship was historic.

No other softball pitcher has done what she did, throw a no-hitter in conference tournament play. Even more impressive was that Palmer was just one error from a perfect game as just one batter reached safely. Palmer was untouchable, allowing no hits or walks in five innings of work while striking out five.

Southwestern's bats were slow to start in the game but they were able to score one in the second. After two quiet innings SU exploded offensively for seven in the fifth to arrive at the 8-0 run rule win.

The Pirates fell to Texas Lutheran in the next game 5-0, defeated Dallas 8-6 and then fell to host-institution Schriener 5-3 in the semifinal. 

Southwestern ended the year with an overall record of 18-21 and were 12-9 in conference play.
