SHREVEPORT, LA- The Pirates traveled to Shreveport, LA for a 3-Game Series versus the Centenary Ladies on Friday, April 28.
Southwestern University lost Game 1 in just 5 innings, 0-11. All games were canceled due to weather on Saturday and play resumed on Sunday, April 30th. The Pirates lost Game 2, 0-7. The Pirates entered Game 3 with a 19-20 record and were hoping not to let the Ladies get the series sweep. Madison Vela pitched a complete game and was able to hold the ladies' scoreless through six innings and this provided Calle Collier hit a single and bring in Briscoe for the first score of the game. Meghan McCarthy then singled and was able to bring in Calle Collier to take the lead upto 2 runs. Ultimately the Pirates won Game 3, 3-0.
Post Season Play is next up for the Pirates as they travel to San Antonio to play Schreiner on Friday, May 5, at 1:30 PM.
