Softball Improves to 6-0 in Conference Play

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS- Softball hosted the Dallas Crusaders for a three game series at Taylor-Sanders Field. 

The Pirates came into this game 3-0 in Conference and on a 5-game winning streak. On Saturday at 1:00 pm, the Pirates jumped out to an early lead in Game 1. The Crusaders simply had no answer for Madison Vela on the mound. The Pirates finished the game 9-0 and Vela earned the No Hitter. From pitching, to the dugout, to batting and fielding, the Pirates played with outstanding energy and momentum. They Carried that through to Game 2 on Saturday. Hailey Arrington pitched a complete game and the Pirates took control of the series, winning 9-1. Sunday seemed as if Game 3 was going to be a different story. Through the 5th inning, the Pirates narrowly led the game by 1 run. Mattigan Aga did a fantastic job on the mound battling Crusader batters and the Pirates defense was holding strong. Eventually, they wore down the Crusaders and began to put some more runs on the board, winning 6-2.
