LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - For the second time this season Southwestern's Austin Smith a sophomore right-hander from Cedar Park, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 8 through Sunday, April 14.
Smith recorded his fourth double-digit strikeout game in a row and his sixth this season in the Pirates' 4-2 series-opening win over fourth-ranked Trinity. The sophomore tossed a complete game, allowing just one hit and two earned runs while striking out 11 batters.
