IRVING, Texas — Southwestern scored four runs over the final two innings to complete a comeback victory, defeating the University of Dallas Crusaders 4-3 in the third game of the three-game conference series.

Dallas scored three runs in the first four innings, taking advantage of Southwestern's three errors with two of its runs unearned.

Southwestern starting pitcher Paige Rasmussen was credited with three innings of work, allowing three hits and six walks. She started the fourth inning and walked the first two hitters, ending her afternoon in favor of Mattigan Aga, who walked the next batter to load the bases and surrendered a Madison Coutts single to plate a run, which was credited to Rasmussen.

Aga pitched the next 2.1 innings for Southwestern striking out two and walking three with one hit allowed before Taylor McKenzie replaced her in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Pirates finally broke through against Dallas starting pitcher Karina Campo in the sixth. Jodi Millhouse opened the inning with a leadoff single up the middle. Alex Fletes reached on a fielder's choice with Millhouse out at second. Then, Maddie Mefford singled to left field and Kathryn Dull singled up the middle to load the bases. Sam Freize flew out to left field with the sacrifice fly to plate Southwestern's first run.

Aga walked two Dallas hitters and hit another to load the bases in the sixth, but McKenzie replaced her and got out of the inning unscathed.

An error on a Millhouse bunt loaded the bases for Southwestern in the top of the seventh and the Pirates capitalized with a two-out, two-RBI single by Mefford to right field. Dull followed with an RBI single to third, giving Southwestern the lead.

McKenzie allowed just one hit, striking out two in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win for Southwestern.

The Pirates improve to 2-9 and will host Case Western Reserve for a doubleheader on Monday, travel to San Antonio for a doubleheader against Texas A&M-San Antonio on Wednesday, and end the week with a doubleheader against East Texas Baptist on Saturday.
