Softball

2015

Irvin played in 33 games as a designated player/outfielder. She notched 38 hits in 92 at bats for a .413 battting average, second best on the team. Irvin drove in 15 runs while scoring 19 times and posted a season high three hits three times this year. Irvin was an All-SCAC First Team selection as a designated player and All-West Region Third Team pick. She also earned a spot on the SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll for her hard work in the classroom. 

2014

Irvin appeared in 24 games and started 13 times. In 46 at bats she posted 15 hits for a .326 batting average and added in four RBIs and six runs scored. Irvin had a season-high three hits against Austin College on April 12^th. 

High School

Marissa is a 2013 graduate of Cypress Creek HS. During her high school career, Marissa excelled both in the classroom and on the field. In 2011 she made the All 1960 Sun and Team Selection. That same year and the next, she was named the Max Prep Player of the Week multiple times. In 2013 she was named to Best Defensive Player at Cy Creek HS. In 2011, 2012, and 2013 Marissa earned Academic All-District and First Team All-District Honors.

Personal

Marissa is the daughter of Fred and Mary Beth Irvin. She has one younger sister Casey and one older sister Kayla who was also a member of the Southwestern softball team. She is majoring in education at Southwestern and is the Vice President of Circle K International.
