AMBROSE AND TURPIN EARN NFCA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARD

GEORGETOWN, Texas - SU Softball's Amanda Ambrose (pictured, left) and Taylor Turpin (pictured, right) earned recognition from The National Fastpitch Coaches Association as NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes on November 10th for their academic accomplishments during the 2010 season.

Athletes who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale are recognized as NFCA Scholar Athletes.

Ambrose and Turpin were a part of the experience core that helped Southwestern to their first SCAC Conference Championship and NCAA Regional berth in 2010.

The Pirates had a successful fall season and begin action on the diamond on February 12th as they head to Seguin, Texas to face Texas Lutheran University.
