2024 Softball Schedule Has Been Released

2024 Softball Schedule Has Been Released

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS- The 2023-24 Southwestern University Softball schedule has been released.

Head Coach Alexis Lynn is entering her third season with the Pirates, and this year, she will be accompanied by new hire Chelsea Rex-Singleton as assistant coach.

"This year's schedule is a tough one that I believe our team is capable of doing really well with. We open with a NCAA Regional Finalist from last year and follow it up immediately with another NCAA regional qualifier. Throughout the season we face four regionally ranked opponents, welcome two teams from the Pacific Northwest and face multiple opponents who finished in the top half of their conference last year. Our non-conference schedule will help prepare us for SCAC where we look to maintain our top three finish," said Coach Lynn.

The Pirate's first preseason game will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 on the road against Mary Hardin-Baylor for a doubleheader. On Sunday, the 18th, they will host East Texas Baptist for a doubleheader. They have two games scheduled against McMurry at home on February 23rd and will host Hardin-Simmons for a solo game on the 24th.

Southwestern will make the short trip to play Concordia Texas on Tuesday, February 27, for a doubleheader and will return on the 29th to host Lewis & Clark, who will be traveling from Portland, Oregon, for a doubleheader. They have three games scheduled versus George Fox University, from Newberg, Oregon, on March 1st and 2nd. The Pirates wrap up their preseason play with doubleheaders against Howard Payne and LeTourneau.

Southwestern University Softball will start their conference play at home on March 15th and 16th, with three games versus Texas Lutheran University. The following week, they are on the road versus Schreiner. St. Thomas hosts the Pirates for a three-game series on March 28th and 29th. The Pirates return home for their matchup against Centenary on April 5th and 6th before having to travel for the following two weekends for three games versus Trinity and University of Dallas. Conference play is wrapped up at home on April 26-27 for three games against Austin College.

The SCAC Tournament will be hosted by Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, TX, May 3-5.
