Payson is a 2013 graduate from Ascension Academy. During her high school career she earned Academic All-State in 2012 and 2013, she served as treasurer for the National Honor Society and she competed in the top 8 at TAPPS State Swimming 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013.

Payson is the daughter of Dan and Vana Puckett and is the sister of Koben Puckett. She is majoring in biology with a minor in psychology and is a member of APO at Southwestern.
