Adams earned four letters in swimming and one in track & field at Nacogdoches High School. She was the 2011 District Newcomer of the Year and was Regional Champion in 2013, qualifying for the state meet. Adams was an All-State selection in 2013 and named Academic All-State in 2013 and 2014. A four-time Academic All-District pick, Adams is a member of the school record holding 200 free relay and 200 medley relay.

Taylor is the daughter of Kip and Tracy Adams. She is majoring in chemistry with a minor in mathematics as Southwestern.
