Women's Swimming & Diving In Second After Day 1 of Tiger Invite

SAN ANTONIO — Southwestern women's swimming and diving is in second place after the first day of the Trinity University Tiger Invitational, scoring a 257 to trail first-place Trinity.

The Pirates didn't win an event on the first day but managed a few second-place finishes, opening as the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Jesse Stovall, Zoe Garcia, Emma Williams, and Emma Frey scoring a time of 1:36.48. 

Stovall earned a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing just off event-winner Emma Hagan's time of 23.74 with a 23.88 finish. Maysen Hauck led the Pirates in the 500-yard freestyle with a third-place finished, clocking in at 5:15.59. Natalie Gierat placed fifth in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:14.21. 

The Pirates quartet of Frey, Gierat, Stovall, and Williams placed third in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:02.21. The Tiger Invitational will resume tomorrow.
