INDIANAPOLIS — Southwestern senior Jesse Stovall wrapped up her collegiate swimming career at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships over the weekend, competing as an individual and as part of multiple relay teams.
Stovall finally made it to Indianapolis after her first NCAA Championships bid in 2020 was canceled due to the global pandemic with no NCAA Championships in 2021. Stovall finished 47ty in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.97, clocked in at 58.19 in the 100-yard butterfly to place 48th, and finished 58th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.78.
Emma Frey, Emma Williams, Stovall, and Zoe Garcia placed 27th in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:52.02. The quartet of Stovall, Garcia, Williams, and Emma Frey was 24th in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.93. Southwestern's Frey, Garcia, Delaney Anthony, and Stovall placed 25th in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:32.58.
The Pirates were penalized for taking off early in the 400-yard medley relay and did not record an official time.
Southwestern's women's swimming and diving team placed second in the SCAC Championships this season, setting multiple conference and school records.
