Williams Breaks Record, Women's Team in 3rd Place At SCAC Championships

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Women's swimming and diving team continued with Day 3 of the SCAC Championships in Garland, Texas, and will enter the fourth and final day of competition in third place. More information on the SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships can be found HERE

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Southwestern women placed 3rd in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:37.91. 
  • Jackie Vargas placed 6th in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.31.
  • In the 400-yard IM, Elaine Bentley placed 6th in 4:57.61. 
  • Emma Williams beat her prelims time by nearly 2 seconds and broke the school record in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:54.60, earning her 5th place overall. 
  • Antonia Leese fought her way to second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.42, while Jackie Vargas took 8th in 1:11.10. 
  • In the 100-yard backstroke, Ellie Samples led the Pirates with a 2nd place finish in 57.79. Delaney Anthony took 6th in 1:01.00 and Maysen Hauck 7th, in 1:01.19.
