GEORGETOWN, TX- Men's Soccer hosted an evening match versus the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys on Sunday the 17th at 6:00 PM.
The Cowboys came into the match 0-2-2 while the Pirates came into the game 3-0-2.
Fifteen minutes into the match, the Pirates were awarded a throw in on the attacking side. Greyson Pinto was able to launch the ball right into the middle of the Box, where there was a scramble from both sides to gain possession of the ball. Raghav Sharma was able to get a strong touch on the ball and sneek it past all defenders and goalie bringing it to 1-0.
The Pirates did a fantastic job keeping possession of the ball throughout the majority of the game. Late in the second half, Cowboy's Jack Sissen scored off of a PK and the final 10 minutes of the match consisted of very physical play. Both teams were trying to get the go ahead goal, but ultimately the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
