GEORGETOWN, Texas — Senior Scott Wilson delivered a golden goal with less than two minutes remaining in the first overtime to give the Southwestern men's soccer team a 2-1 victory over the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs.

Southwestern punched its ticket to the SCAC Tournament in typical Pirate fashion, playing stingy defense against the conference's second high-scoring team and going into overtime to get the win.

Texas Lutheran scored first when a Bulldog got a foot on a Southwestern attempt to clear the ball out of the box, sending the ball into a pocket of space for SCAC leading goal-scorer Luis Green, who found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead three minutes into the game.

The Bulldogs managed to keep the Pirates at bay for most of the match until Skyler Frey broke through in the final minutes with an unassisted goal for the equalizer, taking advantage of a Texas Lutheran foul to score his fifth goal of the season.

Southwestern managed to generate two shots in overtime before Wilson put the game away with his second goal and game-winner of the season.

Southwestern wraps up the regular season with a 10-2-4 record, including 5-1-2 in conference play with the win. The Pirates will claim either the second or third seed in the SCAC Tournament depending on Sunday's St. Thomas game against Austin College.
