JACKSON KRUEGER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior goalkeeper from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 18th.
Krueger preserved the Pirates' undefeated regular season, making three big saves and breaking up another opportunity before St. Thomas could get a shot on goal. On senior day, Southwestern's senior keeper made the biggest play with less than five minutes remaining in regulation, stopping the penalty kick to preserve the 0-0 draw. The result was critical in securing the second seed going into the SCAC Tournament this week.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore defender Noah Johnson of Colorado College anchored the CC backline what allowed just seven total shots and three shots on goal during the 2-1 overtime victory against Austin College. The 'Roos goal was scored on a penalty kick in the 89th minute.

Senior defender Mitchell Long of Texas Lutheran led a Bulldog defensive effort that recorded a shutout against Centenary to close out the home season. Long, a senior playing in his final game at Gustafson Field, was a strong defensive presence at his defender position and even moved up to attack in the latter stages of the match, further keeping Centenary out of TLU's end of the field.
Sophomore defender JonConnor Rule of Trinity notched his first goal of the season to open the scoring for Trinity, as well as holding Schreiner to just two shots on goal in Saturday's road win.
