Southwestern men's soccer player Nathaniel Blake was named the first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Offensive Player of the Week of the season for his performance in the Pirates' 1-0 victory over Texas Lutheran University.
Blake, a freshman from Helotes, Texas, stepped in front of a Texas Lutheran pass to create a one-on-one breakaway opportunity, kicking the ball past TLU goalkeeper Caleb Weed for his first collegiate goal.
Blake recorded two points with the game-winning goal, securing three points in the league standings for Southwestern.
Southwestern improved to 1-0. The Pirates will travel to Kerrville, Texas, next weekend to face the Schreiner University Mountaineers on Saturday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m.
