Garrison Van Houten Highlights Men's Soccer All-SCAC Selections

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Four members of the Southwestern University Pirates men's soccer team earned All-SCAC recognition, headlined by junior defensive player Garrison Van Houten

Van Houten was named All-SCAC Second Team after scoring three goals, including two game-winners, with two assists for eight points this season. The junior from Port Neches, Texas was the Week 2 Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two game-winning goals against Huston-Tillotson and East Texas Baptist. 

Ashton Bynum, Fernando Garduno-Jaramilo, and Seth Holzmann all eared Honorable Mention. Bynum scored five goals with three assists and two game-winners to record 13 points. Holzmann kicked four game-winners, finishing with six goals and two assists for 14 points. Garduno-Jaramilo had five points, scoring two goals, including one game-winner, with an assist. 

The Pirates finished the season 10-7-2, including 4-4-1 in conference play. Southwestern lost 1-0 to Austin College in the first round of the SCAC Championship Tournament.
