GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern Brendan Dauth selected as the first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Dauth, a sophomore defender from Spring, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Friday, August 31st to Sunday, September 2. Dauth led a defense that allowed just one goal and posted a shutout as the Pirates went 1-1, to open the 2018 season against a pair of nationally ranked opponents. Against No. 3 Chicago, Dauth and the defense limited the Maroons to just six shots on goal in a tough, 1-0 loss. Dauth and the Pirates responded with an impressive 2-0 shutout of No. 19 Rutgers-Newark. Dauth also garnered an assist on the insurance goal in the win against the Scarlet Raiders.
Up next will be a pair of weekend home games starting Friday at 8:00 p.m. against Texas-Tyler. Later Hardin-Simmons will come up Sunday to play an afternoon game at 3:00 p.m.
