GEORGETOWN, TX- The Pirates hosted the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs for what would be a non-conference game on Friday, Sep 29, 2023, at 5:00 PM. 

The Bulldogs scored early into the match and were able to score one more before the half, allowing them to go into halftime with a 2-0 lead. 

Starting Goalkeeper Johnna Campbell was subbed out for the first time this preseason for Caylin Damron. The Pirates also started the second half with a very different lineup than the one that started the match. They were energized and motivated, outshooting the Bulldogs with a total of 21 shots to their 13. Samantha Hazen assisted Milan Diaz for the Pirate's lone goal of the match and Southwestern finished out the game, losing 1-2. 

Southwestern will get their chance to play Texas Lutheran again for a conference matchup on Oct 27, 2023. 

Next up for the Pirates, they travel to play the University of St. Thomas Celts on Friday, Oct 6, 2023.
