Women's Soccer Loses Battle for First Place, Trinity Wins 6-0

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The battle of undefeated members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference went to the visitors as the Southwestern University women's soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision to Trinity University on Friday night.

Trinity, which is ranked eighth in the nation in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and put the game away with four in the second half.

The Pirates (4-3-4, 4-1-1 SCAC) could only muster two shots on offense including one each from Devin Cybulski and Juliana Chapa.

Trinity (10-0-1, 6-0-0 SCAC) put up 14 shots including nine on goal with Southwestern's Johnna Campbell scooping up three saves.

Hanna Khan and Kyra Stafford led the Tigers with two goals each.

Despite the loss, Southwestern remains in second place in the conference points race with 13, which is just one more than third place Texas Lutheran.
