GEORGETOWN, Texas — Southwestern women's soccer won its fourth consecutive 1-0 decision, defeating the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs in a non-conference game to remain undefeated through six games.

After keeping a clean sheet through three thrilling games against American Southwest Conference opponents last week, the Pirates showed not all 1-0 victories are built the same against their fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponent.

Southwestern sophomore goalkeeper Johnna Campbell recorded her ninth career shutout with perhaps the easiest one of her career, touching the ball only once on a save in the second half. The save was the only shot attempt by the Bulldogs, who rarely pushed the ball into their attacking third and did not earn a single corner kick the entire game.

The Pirates overwhelmed the Bulldogs with 12 shot attempts in the first half, including five on goal. The deciding shot came with less than two minutes remaining in the first half.

Freshman defender Mia Summers beat two Texas Lutheran defenders to a loose ball on the left flank, turned inside, and found freshman forward Lisa Borge. The latter split two defenders and scored the game-winner for her first collegiate goal.

Southwestern created one final corner kick in the closing seconds of the first half, but a Texas Lutheran defender blocked Sarah Griffin's shot as time ran out to keep it 1-0 at the break.

In the second half, the Pirates were content to keep possession away from Texas Lutheran, taking just six shots to the 12 in the first. As a result, Southwestern ended with an 18-1 advantage in shots taken and a 9-0 edge in corner kicks.

Southwestern will travel to Marshall, Texas, for a Sunday game against East Texas Baptist University at 2:30 p.m.
