GEORGETOWN, TX- The Women's Soccer team hosted the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls for a 6:00 PM Sunday Match. The game started early, hoping to beat the bad weather headed toward Georgetown.

The Cowgirls came out firing and never let up, finishing the first half with 19 shots, while the Pirates had just four. Johnna Campbell was able to get her hands on a lot of shots and really kept the Pirates in the match. The Cowgirls entered halftime with the lead, 1-0 and added to that in the middle of the second half. Kayla Moody brought the Pirates to within one after scoring off of a Penalty Kick, but immediately after her goal the game was suspended. Nearly a half hour later, officials made the decision to call the rest of the due to the nearby lightning. The Pirates would lose this match, 1-2, with 10 minutes left on the scoreboard.

Johnna Campbell finished with another 12-Save game.

Next up for the Pirates is Texas Lutheran on Friday, Sep 29, 2023 at 5:00 PM CDT.
