LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- In an announcement made from conference headquarters, Southwestern University's Juliet Pridgen was named the 2021 SCAC Women's Soccer Elite 19 award winner.

Pridgen, a junior forward from Mabank, Texas, currently holds a cumulative GPA of 3.910 in Biology with a Pre-Med emphasis and earned Second Team All-SCAC honors this season in helping lead Southwestern to its first-ever regular-season conference title. She was also named to the all-tournament team two weekends ago when the Pirates advanced to the championship game before falling to Trinity.

This is the fourth-straight year a Pirate earned the Women's Soccer Elite 19 honor, following Maya Fuller last year and Mary Cardone, who was honored in 2018 and 2019.

Established before the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each of the league's 19 sponsored sports as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. In addition, the student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First, Second, or Third Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
