GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern moved their home win streak to three and remain unbeaten at home in SCAC action with a 1-0 victory over Centenary College Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ana Gutierrez gave Southwestern the lead with 13 minutes remaining in the first half as her lofting free kick from 30 yards out drifted into goal.
- Southwestern had the chance they needed to double their lead with a penalty kick in the 87th minute but Gutierrez's shot went off the cross bar and the follow-up by Shannon Lukehart was saved by Erica Coker.
- The Pirates were able to fend off a last few frazzled attempts at tying by the Ladies but held strong to secure the win.

UP NEXT
The Pirates improve to 6-7-1 on the year and 5-2-1 in the SCAC while Centenary falls to 1-11 overall and 0-8 in conference play. Southwestern leaves the friendly confines of Georgetown to face the University of Dallas in Irving Sunday at noon.
