SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Southwestern played a strong first half defensively and allowed just two goals to the nationally-ranked Tigers, but a big second half surge pushed SU to an 8-0 loss to close the regular season.
Kelsey Falcone of Trinity scored both goals in the first half for the Tigers while the Pirates were held without a shot. Sarah Nonaka was kept busy and posted eight saves in the frame.
The flood gates opened in the second half for TU as a steady stream of shots resulted in six second half goals.
Ashley Moulder recorded the only shot for the Pirates.
The loss drops the Pirates to 6-10-2 on the season and 4-3-1 in the SCAC. They will enter the SCAC Conference Tournament this weekend as the #2 seed. SU will face the University of Dallas on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Georgetown.
