GEORGETOWN, Texas - Despite dominating the shot count 31-2 the Southwestern women's  soccer team had to settle for a 0-0 tie on senior night.

After feeling out their attacking opportunities by working all angles the Pirates got two good looks at goal, one by Chelsea Letzer played out by the keeper and the other on a ball in by Lindsay Jakszta that crossed through the box.

Southwestern had clear control of the match, pressuring the Rams' defense at every opportunity. The depth of the Pirates was obvious as the half progressed as SU won 50/50 balls and maintained possession, but weren't able to put one in the net as the Rams packed it in defensively to send the game into halftime scoreless.

The Pirates picked up where they left off as the second half got underway and steadily got great look after great look. HTU's keeper April Taylor was always in the right place at the right time, however, to knock the ball out of harm's way for the Rams.

Allie Dillon played a beautiful ball across the goal with 22 minutes to play that no Pirate could get a touch on and trickled out of range for a goal kick, once again giving the Rams a break.

Southwestern pressed on and continued their barrage of shots, testing Taylor in goal, but Taylor continued to deliver for the Rams as she racked up save after save. The game remained 0-0 through regulation, forcing overtime.

As the one minute remaining call rang throughout the stadium Huston Tillotson gave the Pirates a scare as Xihomara Rodriguez  played the ball forward to Bessy Lopez streaking toward the goal. Southwestern keeper Sarah Nonaka charged out of the goal and beat Lopez to the ball, punching it out to her defender to clear the threat.

The game would come to a close scoreless despite SU taking 31 shots and allowing just two. Taylor posted 13 saves on a busy night in goal for the Rams while Sarah Nonaka had one.  

Southwestern moves to 6-9-2 on the season and close out regular season and SCAC action on Friday night in San Antonio as they take on Trinity.

Five seniors were honored and played their final regular season home game, but return to their home pitch for the SCAC Conference Tournament on November 2-4.
