GEORGETOWN, TEXAS- The Pirates celebrated Senior Day for their second to last regular season match versus the Austin College Roos on Sunday, Oct 22, 2023 at 12:00PM. 

Seniors Johnna Campbell and Kate Nguyen were honored along with Junior, Breana Trevino before the match for their tremendous work they've done for the program.

The Pirates enter the match currently ranked third in the SCAC while Austin College is fifth. The Pirates were coming off of a win versus Dallas where they had nine corner kicks and looked to follow the trend by earning three corner kicks in the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately, they couldn't capitalize on any but continued playing with a patient yet aggressive tone for the match. The Roo's formation was defensive-focused which proved to be difficult for the Pirates to break through in the first half. The score at halftime was 0-0. 

The Pirates were needing the win and not content with the tie. Mia Morales drilled a long shot from outside the box to give the Pirates the lead, 1-0, early in the second half. They seemed to gain all the momentum after Morale's goal and the Pirates agressive play was starting to pay off. 

Lauren Powell and Jackie Powell each scored late in the second half, earning their first goals of the season. Laren Gradt finished the game with three assists. Madison Koehn was able to scored at the buzzer giving the Pirates the win, 4-0. 

The Pirates finished with 18 corner kicks. 

Senior goalkeeper, Johnna Campbell, earned the shutout, tying the school record for career shutouts with 26. She's now tied with Pirate great and current goalkeeper coach, Mary Cardone.

The Pirates wrap up their regular season on the road in Seguin, TX, taking on Texas Lutheran on Friday, October 27th at 6:00 PM CDT.
