GEORGETOWN, TX- Women's Soccer took to the pitch for a noon match up, Sunday, versus the 3-2 Howard Payne Yellow Jackets. 

The Pirates are coming off a 1-0 win versus McMurry and have had very little chance for rest during this challenging preseason. Johnna Campbell has been challenged all year in goal and proved once again that it takes a lot to get the ball past her. She finished the game with seven saves, bringing her total to 59 saves for the year through seven games. 

Just seven minutes into the match, Yamila Lara scored and was assisted by Meredith Lannan. 1-0 after halftime, the Yellow Jackets increased their physical play, but that resulted in a foul against Grace Laase in the box. Samantha Hazen stepped up for the Penalty Kick and put the ball in the back of the net bringing it to 2-0. The Pirates defense, starting with Campbell, proved their toughness once again today and they were able to walk away with the shut out.
