GEORGETOWN, TX- The Southwestern University women's soccer team hosted the Cal Lutheran Regals on another hot day with temperatures reaching 100 degrees for the Sunday matchup.

The Regals are traveling from California and coming off of a 2-0 win versus nationally ranked Trinity. The Pirates came out very strong, keeping possession of the ball on the attacking side of the field. They were looking to match the intensity of the Regals and were much more aggressive offensively than we've seen in previous matches. The first half ended with 0-0 and while the Pirates were on the attack, they went into half-time trailing 14-1 on shot attempts.

Johnna Campbell had another big game as keeper, with a total of 11 saves, 7 of which came from the first period.

Very early in the second half, Elena Baltazar of the Regals drove in for an unassisted goal bringing the score 1-0. Less than five minutes later, the Regals scored again making it 2-0, which would end up being the final score for the match.

The Pirates will host Mary Hardin-Baylor for a 7:00 PM CDT match on Tuesday, September 12.
