The East Texas Baptist University Tigers enter the season under the direction of new head coach Kristin Cox, who spent the previous three seasons as an assistant.
Plenty of continuity still exists, however, with 20 players returning to the team, including All-ASC players Kibriana Bonner (Third Team), Briana Mickshaw (Third Team), Raegan Kappler (Third Team), and Ashleigh Rondon (Second Team).
Rondon led the Tigers in goals (8) and assists (5), totaling 24 points as a sophomore last season, kicking game-winners against Sul Ross State and Louisiana College. Kappler was second with five goals and four assists for a total of four points.

The Southwestern University Pirates picked up where they left off last season, earning two shutout victories at home, defeating Sul Ross State and conference newcomer St. Thomas University.
Southwestern returns First Team All-SCAC players Mary Cardone and Romie Reyna, along with Second Team All-SCAC Mallory Harkins and Hallie Rutherford, and Honorable Mention All-SCAC returnees Hanna Sanderson and Maya Fuller. Cardone was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 1 for her 12 saves in two shutout victories.
