SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College scored two first half goals and then packed it in defensively to beat Southwestern women's soccer 2-0 in their final game of the season on Sunday. The loss marks the end of the Pirates' season with an 8-7-2 overall record, 2-5-1 record in the SCAC.
AC scored just two minutes into the contest and added one more in the 25th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the break. The 'Roos came out of halftime with a new strategy, to protect their lead, and packed their defense into the box to keep SU's offense from mounting a comeback. The tactic worked as the Pirates weren't able to get on the scoreboard as the match came to close.
