
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Southwestern’s women’s
soccer team was unable to upset the #4 Trinity Tigers on Saturday
night as they fell 4-0. The loss drops SU to 7-7-1 overall and
1-3-1 in the SCAC conference while the Tigers remain undefeated at
12-0, 5-0.
Trinity jumped on the board in the 15th minute of action and then
again in the 29th minute to put Southwestern down 2-0 going into
halftime.
The scored remained the same as Southwestern played evenly with the
Tigers during most of the second half until TU’s Carter
assisted on two goals in the 80th and 82nd minutes, giving Trinity
the 4-0 win.
Southwestern managed just seven shots during the contest while
Trinity had 22. First-year Sarah Nonaka recorded eight saves
throughout the match while TU’s keeper Garrett had just
one.
The Pirates head east for their final road trip of the season. They
face Sewanee on Friday at 7:30 pm and Oglethorpe on Sunday at 1:00
pm.
