EMMA PERTUIT OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from Seabrook, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Saturday, February 27 through Sunday, March 7.

Pertuit won 22 of the draw controls, picked up 14 ground balls and scored three goals for the Pirates in the team's 22-10 victory over Midland University. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman defender Gabby Dixon of Dallas picked up eight ground balls and forced five caused turnovers in the Crusader's first match of the season against Midland University.
