Women's Swim Completes Third Day of SCAC Championship 

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Southwestern University women's swim team trails Trinity's with 531 points while the Tigers have 661 points in the third day of the Southern Athletic Collegiate Conference (SCAC) Swim & Dive Championships. 

Rehgan Hartsell has once again came in first in her signature stroke, the 100-yard breaststroke where she finished with a time of 1:05.31. Natalie Gierat finished in fourth place with a time of 1:09.43 and Teresa Cropper finished in eighth place with a time of 1:09.43.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Jesse Stovall came in third place for the Pirates with a time of 57.45 and Summer Newton finished in seventh place with a time of 1:01.12. 

Other top Pirate finishers include Emma Frey who finished in second place, just one second away from claiming first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a final time of 58.09. Alicia Peters (1:00.87) came in fourth followed by Brynn Stokes (1:02.56) who came in seventh and Danielle Perales (1:03.05) finished in eighth place.

Other highlights from the day included Natalie Hicks with a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.82. Brielle Adolph also finished sixth in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:56.49

Lastly, in the 400-yard medley relay, the Pirates finished in second place once again to Trinity with Frey, Hartsell, Stovall and Adolph finishing with a time of 3:57.43. 

 Up next, women's swim will finish their last day to compete for the SCAC Championship title. Preliminaries will start at 10:30 a.m. followed by the finals at 6:00 p.m. at Josh Davis Natatorium.
