Women's Basketball Outscored Late, Bulldogs Win 68-65

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Women's Basketball took the trip to Seguin, Texas on Friday to face the Bulldogs in Memorial Gymnasium. The Pirates closed out their season in a tightly contested game against the Bulldogs. Southwestern trailed by just one point at halftime and took the Bulldogs all the way to the final buzzer when the final tally read 68-65 in favor of Texas Lutheran. 

 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Senior guard Emily Jasek came off the bench for fourteen points going 4-8 from behind the arc and 5-9 total from the field. 
  • Aniyah Burke scored a team-high nineteen points. She went 100% from the free throw line with four rebounds and five assists. 
  • Freshman Lauren Stevens had a team-high eight rebounds along with seven points and two made free throws. 
  • Tea Rodriguez recorded a team-high 75% (3-4) from the three-point line.

NOTES

  • Texas Lutheran used their height to their advantage putting up thirty-four points in the paint compared to the Pirates eight. 
  • The Pirates bench outscored the Bulldogs 24-19 for the game. 
  • Southwestern went 52.2% from beyond the three-point line with twelve made in total.
