SHREVEPORT, La. — Lauren Fulenwider scorched the Centenary Ladies with 10 made 3-pointers, besting her previous school record and setting a new Southern College Athletic Conference single-game record in Southwestern women's basketball's 76-63 win.

The sharpshooting senior scored a career-high 32 points, hitting 10-for-19 from behind the 3-point line and 2-for-3 from the free-throw line to lead the Pirates to victory.

In the first quarter, Southwestern set the tone with defense, holding Centenary to five points on 2-for-11 shooting to take an early 15-5 lead. Fulenwider hit a trio of triples in the half, scoring nine points, and Taylor Carney added eight points on five shots to give Southwestern a 31-22 lead at the break.

Fulenwider caught fire in the second half, scoring 23 points on 7-for-10 shooting from 3-point range. Her 10 3-pointers are the fourth most in Division III women's basketball this season, besting her school-record eight 3-pointers set last year against Austin College and the SCAC record of nine 3-pointers, established in 2009 by Oglethorpe's Sarah Jones and duplicated in 2012 by Dallas's Jordan Baker.

Southwestern's Princess Roberts added 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double this season. Point guard Ellie Ward added 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting and dished out a career-high seven assists. Jada Hollie was a defensive menace with seven rebounds and five steals while contributing three assists.

The Pirates forced 18 turnovers for a 22-12 advantage in points off turnovers and outscored the Ladies 12-4 in second-chance points.

Destini Powell led three Centenary players in double figures with 14 points on 5-for-12 shooting, including 4-for-8 from deep, to go with seven rebounds and seven assists.

Southwestern improves to 6-6 this season with a 2-2 conference record. The Pirates will travel to play Austin College on Friday, followed by a road game against the University of Dallas on Saturday.
