GEORGETOWN, TEXAS- Women's Basketball hosted their first game of the 2023-24 season against the Howard Payne YellowJackets.
Howard Payne jumped out to an early lead ending the first quarter 15-2. The Pirates struggled to find their rhythm, shooting 0-8 from the 3-point line and finishing the night with 29 turnovers. Howard Payne would go on to win, 60-34.
YellowJacket's Taysie Trejo finished with a game-high 17 points.
Lauren Stevens came off the bench to contribute 8 points, 2 rebounds, and was perfect at the line going 2-2.
