Cecily Woolfolk Named SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Southwestern University Pirates senior Cecily Woolfolk was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances in games played from Monday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 23.

Woolfolk dominated inside to help the Pirates closeout the season with a pair of victories, scoring a season-high 27 points to lead the Pirates to a 73-64 victory over the Colorado College Tigers. Against Johnson & Wales on senior day, Woolfolk poured in 25 points, reaching the 20-point plateau for the fourth time in the past five games, as the Pirates ended the season with a 73-54 victory.

She also had two blocks in each game, surpassing 100 blocks for her career. For the week, Woolfolk averaged 26 points on 54.3 percent shooting and 6.5 rebounds per game. Woolfolk finished the season averaging 16.9 points and 8.6 rebounds, shooting 44.5 percent from the floor.

Southwestern finished the regular season with a 10-15 record, including an 8-10 record in conference play, earning the sixth seed in the SCAC Tournament. Southwestern will face Colorado College on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the SCAC Women's Championship Quarterfinal in Kerrville, Texas.
