Bourne earns second SCAC Player of the Week honor

ANNIE BOURNE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior forward from Dallas, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, December 9th through Sunday, December 15th.

Bourne led the Pirates this past weekend as they gave nationally ranked Rhodes all they could handle, ultimately falling short, 64-56. Bourne scored 17 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the field
and 1-for-2 from the free throw line in 30 minutes of play to lead Southwestern.

She added a team high eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal, outscoring the Lynx 32-28 in the second half.

Bourne earns Player of the Week for the second time this year, earning the award two weeks ago in another excellent effort. She is currently seventh in the conference in scoring at 13.2 points per game and third in shooting percentage at 55.6%. Bourne leads the SCAC in re-bounds at 10.8 per game.

Southwestern sits at 2-6 on the year, 0-1 in the SCAC and have their final game before Christmas on Monday night, facing Texas Wesleyan University at home at 5 p.m.
