Hannah Leads Pirates to Victory on Senior Day

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Men's Basketball advanced to 5-9 in conference play and is now in a tie for fifth place with Texas Lutheran and Schreiner in the SCAC standings. Next weekend will determine which two of the three teams will make the tournament, with Southwestern, Texas Lutheran, and Schriner all playing each other next weekend.

The Pirates battled with the Tigers all afternoon and put on a show for a large crowd in the Robertson. The first half concluded with the Pirates leading 22-20; seniors Preston Hannah and Leo Toussaint led the Pirates in scoring in the first with eight and six points, respectively.

Hannah continued his scoring tear in the second half with nine points and fellow senior Zac Black put up eight points of his own. Hannah finished his last game in the Robertson Center with seventeen points, three rebounds, and going 5-6 from the free-throw line.

The first half would be the deciding factor of the game as the two teams tied in scoring, 34-34, in the second half. Southwestern men's basketball went on to win the game by just two points, 56-54. The Pirates had their chance at redemption after falling to Colorado College earlier this season in overtime, taking down the Tigers on senior day in the Robertson Center.

The Pirates are back in action next Friday, February 17th, in Kerrville, Texas, to face the Schriner Mountaineers at 7:30 PM CST.
