Kyle Poerschke of Southwestern, a junior guard from Houston, Texas, has been named SCAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, January 29 through Saturday, January 30.

Poerschke led the Pirates in road sweep of Colorado over the weekend. Poerschke averaged 17 points per game on a scorching 67.45 true shooting percentage, hitting 56.5 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from three with 14 rebounds in two wins in just 23 minutes per game. 

Other impressive performances in the SCAC:

Senior guard Sebastian Andrade of Texas Lutheran averaged 17.5 points and 4.5 rebounds over a pair of losses at home to Trinity. Andrade scored 25 in Friday's loss. First-Year forward Jack Boyle of Dallas led the Crusaders over the weekend, capturing their first win on Saturday. Boyle notched a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. In the team's win, Boyle recorded another double-double with 11 points and a personal-high 19 rebounds. Junior guard Juan Hood of St. Thomas led the Celts in a weekend split against Schreiner. Hood recorded 15 points in Friday's loss. Followed by a career-high 27 points in Saturdays victory. Sophomore guard Ralph Johnson of Centenary led the Gents on Saturday with a season-high 23 points. Junior Guard Jack McRoskey of Colorado College scored a career-high 28 points during the Tiger's 81-67 loss to Southwestern, Saturday. McRoskey connected on 10 of 13 field-goal attempts, including all three of his shots from behind the arc. First-Year guard/forward Abdullah Roberts of Trinity came off the bench to hit game-winning turnaround jumper from the free throw line over two Texas Lutheran defenders to give Trinity back-to-back weekend sweeps and its fifth-consecutive SCAC victory.
