Ogden earns SCAC Co-Player of the Week honors

RYAN OGDEN OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward from Lafayette, La., has been selected the SCAC Co-Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, January 18th, sharing the award with Kendall Demouchet of Centenary College.

Ogden led the Southwestern Pirates to a pair of wins, defeating Trinity on the road for the first time since 2009, before coming from behind to beat Schreiner.

Ogden averaged 22.5 points per game over the weekend, shooting a blistering 15-for-22 from the field and 6-for-7 from behind the arch. He was also excellent at the charity stripe, shooting 9-for-10 from there. 

Ogden began the weekend scoring a career-high 28 points and pulling down 10 boards as the Pirates defeated Trinity in San Antonio for the first time since December 3rd, 2009. He also added two steals in the contest. The Pirates followed that up with a domianting win over Schreiner where Ogden was against terrific, scoring 17 points and picking up two more steals in the victory.

For the season, Ogden is averaging 11.2 pts/gm (10th in the SCAC), while shooting 51.7% from the field (5th in the SCAC), 51.5% from the three point line (3rd in the SCAC), and 79.4% from the free throw line (5th in the SCAC). He also is pulling in 6.6 reb/gm (4th in the SCAC).
