BROWN LEADS PIRATES IN ALL-SCAC VOTING

JACKSON, Miss. - Jonathan Brown, a junior forward from Houston, Texas, as named to the All-SCAC Second Team for the 2009-2010 season. Brown was the earned the highest honors for Southwestern and joins senior Travis Barber, Zach Bergstrom and junior Nick Caputo in the report who were Honorable Mention selections.

Brown led the Pirates in points and rebounds, averaging 13.7 points per game and 5.2 rebounds. He shot 54.5% from the field and 64.7% from the free throw line on the season while recording 56 assists, 22 blocks and 27 steals.

Also named in the report was Barber, a senior guard from Houston, who was third on the team in points at 10.9 per game and fourth in rebounds at 4.3 per game. He recorded 56 assists and led the team in steals with 32.

Joining Barber is Bergstrom, a senior guard from LaVernia, Texas. Bergstrom was third on the team in points and second in rebounds, scoring 10.7 per game and pulling down 4.9 boards. He was second in assists also with 60.

Rounding out the Honorable Mention selections for Southwestern is Caputo, a junior guard from Austin, Texas. He was second on the team in scoring at 12 per game and third in rebounds at 4.7.

Southwestern closed out the season at 16-10 overall and 9-7 in the SCAC after losing in the first round of the SCAC tournament to DePauw.
