GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Sophia Ytuarte,  a first year right-hander from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitch- er-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 24 through Sunday, March 31.  

Ytuarte was outstanding in the circle last week for Southwestern, leading the Pirates to a key SCAC road series win over St. Thomas pitching two complete game shutouts to earn a pair of wins. In the series opener, Ytuarte allowed just four hits and two walks in seven innings of work to secure the 4-0 win. She then closed the series with her second complete game shutout, scattering just four hits in seven innings of work, without allowing a walk and striking out four in a tight 2-0 win in the rubber match. In total, Ytuarte allowed just eight hits over 14 innings of work, walked just two, and struck out four in earning a pair of complete game shutouts while posting an impressive 0.71 WHIP.
