Softball Drops First Game of Series to Mountaineers

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Softball (4-18, 1-3) fell in the first game of the three-game conference series to the Schreiner Mountaineers (1-18, 0-3) on Friday Night. The Pirates the game 3-0 till the bottom of the fifth inning, where the Mountaineers rallied to make it 3-2 going into the sixth. Schreiner manufactured two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take the win from the Pirates in walk-off fashion, 3-4.

  • Pitcher Jaden Wheeler went 6.2 innings with six strikeouts and two earned runs.
  • The Pirates had four errors, while Schreiner was clean with zero.
  • Southwestern stole two bases with none for the Mountaineers.
