Softball Rebounds, Takes Games 2 & 3 from Schreiner

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS -  Southwestern Softball (4-19) rebounded on Saturday after a Friday afternoon walk-off loss to the Schreiner Mountaineers (2-18). The Pirates took game two of the series 3-1 and followed it up with a 5-4 win to conclude with their first conference series win of the season.

  • Brooke Yanta hit a two-run shot to kick off scoring for the Pirates at the top of the second inning.
  • Jaden Wheeler closed out the game with 3.1 innings pitched with four strikeouts and no runs scored. 
  • Saenz had two hits in four at-bats, driving in runs with each of her hits. 

NOTES

  • Jodi Glenn-Millhouse had one run scored and three hits between games two and three. 
  • The Pirates committed just one error in both games on Saturday.
  • Southwestern had eighteen total hits against the Mountaineers on Saturday.

  • The Pirates will travel to Houston, Texas, for their next conference series against the St. Thomas Celts. The first game is set for 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 28th.
